Every charm bracelet is precious and should be treated as such. All jewelry, even the most precious, requires basic care. To keep your personalized jewelry looking lustrous and brand new. Below are a few simple instructions to keep in mind. Knowing the basic care instructions you need to ensure your jewelry helps stays looking like new no matter how long ago you purchased it!

  1. Makeup and Hair Products

Lotions, hairspray and some cosmetics have chemicals that can harm or tarnish your precious jewelry. To keep your customized piece looking its best, keep it out of harm’s way by putting it on after your do your makeup and hair.

  1. Don’t wear jewelry if you are cleaning

Lotions, hairspray, and certain cosmetics have chemicals in it that can cause damage to jewelry, such as tarnishing. By putting on jewelry after cleaning with chemicals, you limit your jewelry's exposure to the chemicals.

  1. Don’t wear jewelry in the Shower/Bathtub

Your soaps and shampoos may get you smelling fresh and squeaky clean, but they could do a number on your personalized jewelry if they also have chemicals in this. Too much exposure in the shower while wearing your personalized necklace, bracelet or rings can cause a film to form over the precious metal, dulling the sheen and diminishing its gorgeous shine.

  1. Jewelry and Chlorine don’t mix

Everyone loves a cool dip in the swimming pool on a hot summer day. But pools and Jacuzzi's are full of chlorine, which can discolor your jewelry if exposed too long. So play it safe: When you’re stripping down into your bathing suit, take your jewelry off, too.

  1. Safekeeping your Jewelry

Properly storing your jewelry will do wonders for keeping it looking new. Keep your personalized jewelry in a box where it won’t get tangled up with other items or dinged up from too much movement. A jewelry box with a soft felt lining is a great idea, but you can even line a simple shoe box with fabric to keep your items nestled and safe. Anti-tarnish strips are also a great investment to keep out oxidants than can tarnish and dull your pieces.

Your charms and charm bracelets should be handled with care at all times. All sterling silver will tarnish over times, but it will tarnish faster if perfumes, salty air, Sulphur, skin creams, hair products, chlorine and acidic skin ph, comes into contact with your bracelet. The amount of tarnishing that occurs is depends on the skin and care habits of the one who wears it. Tarnishing is therefore not a manufacturing fault.

All jewelry can eventually tarnish, but your best defense is to be vigilant and properly care for your items. It’s recommended that you give your gold or silver jewelry a quick clean at the end of the day, using a soft cleaning cloth, to remove any fingerprints or oils that may have accumulated from normal wear. And once a week, we recommend a more deep clean — use a mix of 1/2 cup warm water with a few squirts of mild liquid soap, and let your jewelry soak for three minutes. Then remove your items, rinse with clean water, and allow the jewelry to dry.

Sterling silver jewelry deserves extra special care, so for these precious items we recommend a silver polish. Your personalized jewelry commemorates your most special moments in life, so treat it with care and it will last you a lifetime.

Simply wear your best charm bracelets for best moments of showing it off - Like when you're going to a formal party, or wear it with your best outfit for work.
